Language Learning Strategies and Learner Autonomy: The Case of Indonesian Tertiary EFL Students

This study aimed at investigating the language learning strategies and autonomy of 76 Indonesian EFL university students and examining the correlations between the two. The Oxford's (1990) Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL) for ESL/EFL learners was used to collect the data on students’ language learning strategy use and an adapted questionnaire developed by Chan et al. (2002) was used to assess students’ autonomy.

Measuring TEFL Students’ Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety: A Rasch Analysis Approach

This study sought to measures the foreign language classroom anxiety of the English Department students of a university in Indonesia and to compare the anxiety across independent demographic variables of gender and length of study at the department. The literature shows that foreign language learning anxiety affects one’s achievements in learning a foreign language. Data were collected through administration of the adapted version of Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale to 96 students selected through stratified random sampling technique.

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh karena masyarakat Kerinci merupakan masyarakat yang majemuk terdiri dari bermacam etnis, suku dan budaya, yang rawan menimbulkan konflik, maka IAIN Kerinci merupakan salah satu Perguruan Tinggi Negeri merasa berkewajiban untuk memasukkan mata kuliah multikultural ke dalam kurikulum. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui “Pendidikan Islam Berwawasan Multikultural: Studi Implementasi di Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Kerinci”. In this research, we explore the process of bai'at educators in the Sammaniyah congregation and its internalization and implications for changes in educator competence in Jambi Province, Indonesia. This study uses descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The aim is to find out the process of bai'at of the Sammaniyah tarekat, internalization methods, and changes in educator competence using observation data collection methods and semi-structured interviews involving 7 participants. THE EFL RURAL STUDENTS' EXSPERIENCES IN COPING WITTH ONLINE LEARNING DURING THE COVID - 19 PANDEMIC

This study aims to explore the learning experiences of the Indonesian rural students during the Covid-19 pandemic which had transitioned to online learning and solutions. A phenomenological approach was used as a research methodology using semi-structured interviews for the data collection. This study was conducted in one Islamic higher education with seven participants. The data were analyzed through thematic analysis by comparing each participant's interview result in the form of research themes.

Kurikulum berbasis karakter merupakan kurikulum yang mempolakan dan memadukan antara aspek material konsep atau teori dengan nilai atau karakter terhadap perubahan perilaku siswa pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Perilaku siswa pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia diharapkan dapat tumbuh dan berkembang baik secara kuantiti maupun kualiti.

Self-disclosure needs to be owned by students, especially in the first year because it is a way to adapt to a new environment. This study aims to analyze the synergy between lecturer's social competence on the formation of student self-disclosure. The research method uses a quantitative approach with the type of correlational research. The research population is all freshmen in the first year. The research sample was 146 students. The sampling technique used is cluster sampling.

MKU Bahasa Indonesia dipandang oleh sejumlah mahasiswa sebagai Mata Kuliah yang membosankan Hal ini dikarenakan materi perkuliahan MKU Bahasa Indonesia hanya menekankan pada keterampilan mahasiswa dalam menggunakan Bahasa Indonesia. Selain itu dalam menyampaikan materi pembelajaran dosen dominan menggunakan metode ceramah, membaca buku, menjelaskan, menulis dipapan tulis, kemudia mahasiswa mencatatnya. Penggunaan media pembelajaran pada orientasi pembelajaran akan sangat membantu keaktifan proses pembelajaran dan menyampaian pesan dan isi perkuliahan yang dipelajari.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kompetensi pengetahuan mahasiswa sebelum menggunakan media youtube dalam pembelajaran MKU Bahasa Indonesia, untuk mengetahui kompetensi pengetahuan mahasiswa setelah menggunakan media Youtube dalam pembelajaran MKU Bahasa Indonesia, dan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kompetensi pengetahuan mahasiswa setelah menggunakan media Youtube dalam pembelajaran MKU Bahasa Indonesia. Metodologi penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan eksperimen. Sedangkan desain rancangan pre eksperimental (pre eksperimental design).

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan negatif dukungan sosial dan motivasi intrinsik dengan prokrastinasi akademik pada mahasiswa Institut Agama Islam Negeri Kerinci. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Jumlah sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 72 mahasiswa yang diambil dari mahasiswa jurusan Bimbingan dan Konseling Pendidikan Islam. Adapun instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dalam penelitian ini adalah skala prokrastinasi akademik, dukungan sosial, dan motivasi intrinsik.

Abstract: Language skills can be improved through the application of CIRC learning models, and the procedure of CIRC includes: teacher presentation, team practice, individual practice, peer preassessment, additional practice and testing. Then the last one is various activities which they elements in the CIRC learning model such as (1) reading each other's stories with group friends, (2) conclude stories, (3) listen to stories, (4) retell stories that have been read and heard in oral and written forms, (5) play drama, (6) write, edit, revise, and publish poetry with group friends.

The Effect of Self-Esteem on Resilience among Victims of Bullying: Does Gender Play a Role?

Bullying has become a serious issue in educational institutions. Bullying causes significant negative effects on physical, social, and psychological aspects. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of self-esteem on resilience. We also analyzed the resilience differences between male and female students. Through a cross-sectional study design, 86 students participated in completing a survey. The Multidimensional Peer-Victimization Scale developed by Mynard & Joseph was used to determine respondents who were victims of bullying.

Academic burnout is a condition that should be avoided to prevent it from impeding students' academic achievement. This study aims to investigate the direct effects of perfectionism and academic stress on academic burnout and the role of academic stress as a mediator between perfectionism and academic burnout. One hundred Kartu Indonesia Pintar scholarship recipients (KIP-K) for the 2021 academic year voluntarily completed a questionnaire. The selection of respondents was based on the indication that KIP-K scholarship recipients were experiencing burnout due to high academic demands.

Mindfulness, Self-Compassion, Resilience, and Academic Anxiety among College Students: A Structural Equation Modeling Approach

One of the challenges faced by students is academic anxiety, which can have negative impacts on their academic activities. The aim of this study was to examine the direct effects of mindfulness, self-compassion, and resilience on academic anxiety, as well as the mediating role of resilience in these relationships. A cross-sectional study was conducted, and a sample of 344 university students from Jambi Province, Indonesia was recruited to complete the Academic Anxiety Scale (AAS), Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ), Self-Compassion Scale (SCS), and Brief Resilience Scale (BRS).

Corruption is a serious problem for many countries in the world, especially developing countries. This systematic literature review (SLR) aims to analyze anti-corruption education in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore from the aspects of policy and practice. The literature review model used is PRISMA which produces 70 articles that meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The analysis results show that anti-corruption education policies in the three countries are contained in written regulations, such as government regulations and regulations of the ministry of education.

Penyesuaian diri menjadi salah satu permasalahan yang sering dihadapi oleh santriwati baru pondok pesantren. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh langsung stres akademik dan self-efficacy terhadap penyesuaian diri, maupun secara tidak langsung melalui self-esteem. Dengan menggunakan desain penelitian survei, sebanyak 191 santriwati tahun pertama berpartisipasi mengisi the Academic Adjustment Scale (AAS), Academic Stress Scale (ASS), Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSE) dan Self-Efficacy Questionnaire for Children (SEQ-C).

Final-year students are often faced with stressful conditions. They have to complete all the academic demands that are so many. This study aimed to examine the direct effect of religiosity and religious coping on academic stress and the mediating effect of religious coping on the relationship between religiosity and academic stress. A total of 191 final-year students at one of the universities in Indonesia participated in filling out the College Student Stress Scale, Religiosity Scale among Muslims and The Brief RCOPE.

The purpose of this study was to provide resilience to the economic and social resilience of Muslim families during the pandemic and their interactions with family counseling in Pantai Cermin District, Solok Regency. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach. The population of the study was the entire community of Pantai Cermin sub-district, Solok Regency. Sampling is by using a cluster random sampling system, by categorizing jorong which is rarely populated with densely populated areas. Some samples are chosen randomly or randomly from some of these clusters.
