Pelaksanaan Adat Margondang pada Pesta Pernikahan: Pergumulan antara Nilai Luhur Budaya dan Tuntutan Prakmatis

The custom of margondang is commonly carried out in traditional marriages of the South Tapanuli people. Margondang is a ceremony that has noble cultural values. However, the current implementation is inserted with things that erode these cultural values. This study aims to describe the cultural values of the margondang custom and to analyze the law of the implementation of the margondang custom at the wedding ceremony of the people of South Tapanuli. Doctrinal law research with a coceptual approach.

Ibn Al-Muqaffa’s Proposal for Taqnīn and its Synchronization with Islamic Law Codification in Indonesia

The research problems addressed in the article are the background story behind Ibn al-Muqaffa’s proposal for taqnīn, the historical background of the creation of the Islamic law codification in Indonesia, and the synchronization of ibn alMuqaffa’s idea for taqnīn with the codification of Islamic law in Indonesia. The current study aims to unravel the view of Ibn Al-Muqaffa, an Islamic figure, about taqnīn. A biographical study was conducted by doing library research, especially on Ibn Al-Muqaffa’s proposal for taqnīn.

Strategy of Strengthening Corruption Prevention and Enforcement through Social Punishment: A Sociological Study

Corruption is an extraordinary crime that can threaten the survival of many people's lives. Therefore, the existence of corruption must be prevented and eradicated at its roots. Corruption occurs through complex factors, not only caused by structural but also cultural factors. Therefore, the eradication of corruption is not enough in the structural measures such as punishment, but need to extendto other penalties such as social sanction. This study is a descriptive qualitative study with library techniques.

APPROACHES TO FOSTER LEARNER AUTONOMY IN EFL LEARNING: A LITERATURE REVIEW

Learner autonomy has been a major topic of research in foreign language education for a long time. Despite the prevalent consensus that learner autonomy is concerned with a learner’s capacity to take control or take charge of his/her own learning (Benson, 2013), this does not mean that the teacher’s role is unnecessary. In recent years, many approaches to promoting learner autonomy have been suggested and many empirical studies have been carried out to examine the effectiveness of the approaches. This paper aimed at reviewing approaches to promoting learner autonomy.

The Implementation of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in English Language Teaching: The Case of Indonesian Senior High School EFL Teachers

This research aimed to explore Indonesian EFL teachers' perceptions of the implementation of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in English language classrooms. Specifically, it attempted to explore: (1) teachers’ understanding of HOTS, (2) teachers’ perceptions of the implementation of HOTS in their EFL classrooms, and (3) teachers’ perceived obstacles in the implementation of HOTS. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Five English language teachers at a senior high school in Jambi Province, Indonesia participated in this research.

WOMEN LEADERSHIP IN ISLAMIC POLITICAL AND LEGAL PERSPECTIVES

Talking about women’s leadership in politics and Islamic law, there were differences of opinion. In Islamic Sharia, which is comprehensive, elastic, dynamic and flexible, it determines the criteria that must be possessed by a leader, among others, fair, has scientific capacity (world and the hereafter), physical and mental health. When viewed in Indonesia, women are allowed to take part in the political world. Normative women’s leadership has powerful legitimacy, both theologically, philosophically, and legally.

WAWASAN AL-QUR’AN TENTANG ILMU

Ilm dari segi bahasa berarti kejelasan. Ilmu adalah pengetahuan yang jelas tentang sesuatu. Sehingga ilmu yang dalam kenyataannya dewasa ini mengikuti pendapat sebagian ahli “bebas nilai”, harus diberi nilai Rabbani oleh ilmuwan muslim. Karena itulah, Al-Qur’an menuntun manusia menuju jalan-jalan Allah yang Maha Perkasa lagi Maha Terpuji. Dengan kata lain, Dia Maha Perkasa lagi Maha Suci dari kesalahan sehingga Dia Maha Pantas atas segala macam pujian. Dia tidak seperti manusia perkasa yang ketika menduduki singgasana kekuasaan, menempuh jalan kekejaman, penindasan dan monopoli.
