Modifying and Assessing Validity and Reliability of Motivation for Reading Questionnaire

This study aimed to describe the modification process and validity and reliability assessment of instruments regarding motivations for the reading questionnaire (MRQ) for measuring reading motivation of junior high school students in Jambi, Indonesia. Eighty-three students participated in this study, selected through the respondent who returned the questionnaires. The corrected items' total correlation of SPSS 23 was applied to examine the validity and reliability of MRQ.

Indonesian EFL Students’ Difficulties in Recognizing English Letters

The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore the difficulties of Indonesian undergraduate students in recognizing English letters at one public Islamic higher education institution in Jambi Province, Indonesia as the basis for designing pronunciation teaching strategies for English lecturers. Using a qualitative methodology that attempts to investigate and understand human issues in a particular group (Harrison et al., 2017), 4 participants were interviewed. through semi-structured interview questions.

Indonesian EFL Learners’ Reading Motivation

Motivation in reading is very important for engaging learners in reading activity which can affect better reading comprehension. However, without motivation in reading can affect the worst reading comprehension. Therefore, motivation in reading needs to be constructed first by the teachers. This study examined whether intrinsic and extrinsic reading motivation different among students and reading motivation in general. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach with a survey design.

The outbreak of the corona virus has had an impact on various sectors, especially the education sector. The application of online learning has been implemented in almost all schools in Indonesia. However, judging from the results of various studies and some experiences, the online learning process in Indonesia has previously been carried out well. Mathematical representation skills are needed so that students understand mathematical concepts well. This study aims to analyze the ability of mathematical representation in online learning. Development of an e-modules for learning mathematics based on a scientific approach to help the online learning process

This study is motivated by teaching materials that are less attractive and difficult for students to understand in participating in online learning and the lack of teaching materials used in online learning, namely using only textbooks. This has an effect on student learning outcomes and students' mathematical abilities. The purpose of this study is to produce mathematics teaching materials in the form of e-modules for learning mathematics based on a scientific approach to assist the online learning process. The background in this research is the lowerness of students’ problem solving ability in SMPN 4 Kerinci. According to the prior study, the abductive-deductive strategy can improve the stundets’ problem solving ability therefore we need to solve the lowerness of students’ problem solving ability by using abductive-deductive strategy in learning process. This research aims to improve students' problem solving ability by using abductive-deductive strategies. This research used the quasi-experimental method with the Control Group Pretest-Posttest design.

Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Komik Berbasis Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis

Penelitian ini membahas tentang pengembangan media berupa komik berbasis kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis untuk siswa kelas VIII SMP. Salah satu keterampilan paling penting yang harus dikuasai siswa yaitu kemampuan untuk memecahkan masalah matematika. Akibatnya, dibutuhkan media untuk membantu siswa lebih memahami materi pelajaran dan meningkatkan kemampuan mereka untuk memecahkan masalah matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media komik dalam pembelajaran matematika berdasarkan kemampuan siswa SMP dalam memecahkan masalah matematika.
