THE EFFECT OF CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING ON READING MOTIVATION

This study is an investigation the effect of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach on developing English second semester students’ eight reading motivation dimension. The study aimed to compare conventional and CTL group eight reading motivation dimension achievement and gain before and after receiving different treatment of the study. The study employed in quasi experimental research. The cluster random sampling technique was used in choosing the participants of the study.

The education system in Indonesia does not yet accommodate diversity, so that led to the emergence of segmentation educational institutions based on religious differences, ethnic, and even differences in physical and mental abilities of students. During this time the children who have different capabilities provided special educational facilities with fixesthe level and type of disabilities called Extraordinary School (SLB). Unconsciously education system SLB has built an exclusive wall for children with special needs.

Kampung Santri: Potret Pendidikan Islam Di Desa Pendung Talang Genting Kabupaten Kerinci

Kesadaran bersama (collective consciousness) masyarakat, tokoh adat dan pemerintah desa terhadap degradasi moral di kalangan anak-anak dan remaja desa Pendung Talang Genting Kab. Kerinci telah melahirkan Perdes No. 004 Tahun 2014 tentang Pegang Pakai Adat Tahun 2014-2020. Ide pokoknya, semua pihak bertanggung jawab mewujudkan pendidikan Islam guna menciptakan suasana islami di desa tersebut. Berhubung desa ini berada di dekat pintu gerbang taman wisata Danau Kerinci maka kekhawatiran terhadap degradasi moral menjadi ancaman mendasar.
