Konseling

Every individual is required to be able to adjust to changes that occur. For individuals who are not able to adjust to the changes, it can cause problems for them. This conditions provides great opportunities for counselors to organize counseling services. Counselors are supposedly able to apply the code of conduct in providing services to clients. Various issues of implementing the code of conduct are occurring in the implementation of counseling services, whether it is caused by counselor or external parties.

Smoking is an act of waste and waste on property. The purpose of this study were to described: 1) smoking habits of students before giving Rational Emotive therapy? ; 2) student smoking habits after giving Rational Emotive therapy ?; and 3) the effectiveness of Rational Emotive counseling therapy in reducing students' smoking habits. This research was used pre test & post test design. The population in this research were all class X students of SMAN 3 Pekanbaru who had smoking habits with totaling 32 students.

In general, the purposes of education in Indonesia is to build a character of students, but the fact tell a different version. Until now education in Indonesia still face a crisis in character. As example; found a student cheating, and lack of will to learning in school and at home, more than that we still found a criminalization, ect. A way to handle a problem of build the student character is with a modelling by personalities of counselor as educator.

Konselor di sekolah memiliki peranan yang penting untuk membantu menangani masalah peserta didik yang bermacam-macam. Proses belajar mengajar yang secara terus menerus yang dilakukan oleh para siswa serta tekanan-tekanan baik dari dalam diri maupun dari lingkungannya untuk mencapai hasil belajar yang maksimal terkadang membawa siswa/siswi pada batas kemampuan jasmaniahnya, hal ini membuat peserta didik mengalami kejenuhan, keletihan dan kebosanan dalam belajar. Kegiatan konseling adalah usaha memperkuat “ego strength” atau yang disebut dengan kekuatan ego.

Latar belakang penenlitian ini yaitu adanya indikasi kecerdasan siswa yang masih rendah dan perlu untuk ditingkatkan, sehingga penelitian ini ubertujuan untukmeningkatkan kecerdasan emosi siswa melalui layanan bimbingan kelompok melalui pendekatan eksperimen dengan rancangan the one group pretest-posttest design. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 10 orang yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data diungkap melalui angket model skala likert dan dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test.
