JALWIS, 88311173, The Concept of Multiculutral Education in the Qur'an an its Relevance with Multicultural Education in the Teaching of Islamic Education at Senior High Schools in Sungai Penuh city, Dissertation, Padang; Postgraduate Doctoral Program of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang. The dynamics of education an religion in social reality are two study perspectives that run synchronously in the society's construct. Transformation and renewal in education is a must, to answer the increasingly dynamic and complex problems of educational phenomena. In the process, education canot be separated from changes in social reality influenced by multicultural culture in society. In the context of education in , schools, these phenomena seem to justify that the teaching of Islamic Educationbecomes an indicator of the achievement of competence valu s ulticultural education. Based on these problems, in this study the author would like to express: ( 1) How the discourse on multicultural education by educational experts; (2) What is the perspective of multicultural education in the Qur'an in explaining multicultural education; (3) How is multicultural education in learning Islamic Education in Senior High Schools in Sungai Penuh city; 4) How is the relevance of the concept of multicultural education in Qur'an with multicultural education in the teaching of Islamic education in Senior High Schools in Sungai Penuh city. In the context of research of this dissertation the author uses two approaches to prove this research scientifically, constructively, and bolistically. First, the interpretive approach with the maudhuiy tafsir method. Second, the phenomenological approach used to examine data on the aspects of multicultural value phenomena in the social context, to analyze the applicability of curriculum of Islamic Education and the relevance of multicultural values in teaching materials or curriculum of islamic Education in Senior High Schools with a concept of multicultural education contained in the Qur'an. The results of this study express some findings about: ( l) The basic principles of multicultural education are in sync with the Islamic teachings the Qur'an become the main reference in behaving, acting and doing all activities. (2) Multicultural in the perspective of the Qur'an is a reality of God's absolute rule and impossible to deny. Everyone will face diversity anywhere and under any circumstances. 3) The implementation of multicultural education of Islamic Education subject in Senior High School in Sungai Penuh was based on the Nano al Curriculwn and has been implemented in accordance with what has been made by Islamic Education subject Teachers' in the Learning Program Plan, and taught by various methods, and always reflective, combined learning materials with student's background; ( 4) The learning of multicult al education in Senior High School in Sungai Penuh has relevance to what is in the Qur'an, as the main source of Islamic Education subject. In fact, the Qur'an becomes the source of the preparation of religious learning plan in school. .
