Keywords: Reading Comprehension, RCRR Strategy, Recount Text Based on research conducted at SMPN 18 Kerinci, it can be seen that the value of reading comprehension in English subjects is still below the KKM, this is because learning carried out by teachers still uses conventional and less innovative learning models. English learning activities only contain routine activities based on teacher instruction and it has become a habit that has been carried out for years, because the teacher does not use learning media, many teachers use the lecture method. The data in this study were obtained based on answers to the test questions used. The test used in this study is multiple choices to identify students' reading comprehension. Then to analyze the data researcher have classified student answers based on multiple choice indicators. The results of the study show that there is any significant effect of using RCRR strategy on students' ability in reading comprehension of narrative text. It is can be seen from the result of hypothesis = 2.9 and = 1.68 based on these results. It is mean that tobs is bigger than ttabele. Thus, can be concluded that there is any significant effect of using RCRR strategy toward students‟ ability in reading comprehension of narrative text at the eighth grade of SMPN 18 Kerinci.
