Language Learning Strategies and Learner Autonomy: The Case of Indonesian Tertiary EFL Students

This study aimed at investigating the language learning strategies and autonomy of 76 Indonesian EFL university students and examining the correlations between the two. The Oxford's (1990) Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL) for ESL/EFL learners was used to collect the data on students’ language learning strategy use and an adapted questionnaire developed by Chan et al. (2002) was used to assess students’ autonomy.

Measuring TEFL Students’ Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety: A Rasch Analysis Approach

This study sought to measures the foreign language classroom anxiety of the English Department students of a university in Indonesia and to compare the anxiety across independent demographic variables of gender and length of study at the department. The literature shows that foreign language learning anxiety affects one’s achievements in learning a foreign language. Data were collected through administration of the adapted version of Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale to 96 students selected through stratified random sampling technique.

THE EFFECT OF CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING ON READING MOTIVATION

This study is an investigation the effect of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach on developing English second semester students’ eight reading motivation dimension. The study aimed to compare conventional and CTL group eight reading motivation dimension achievement and gain before and after receiving different treatment of the study. The study employed in quasi experimental research. The cluster random sampling technique was used in choosing the participants of the study.

An Implementation of Expilicit Instruction Strategy in Teaching Recount Text on the Students Writing Skil

In English learning, there are four skills that need to be mastered by English students, they are listening, speaking, reading and writing. As four skills writing is one of the most important skill for students. Writing becomes one of the most important aspect of the language skills because the students are helped to expand the other language skill through the teaching of writing skill by teacher. The purpose of this research was to find out whether any significant effects of using Explicit Strategy in teaching recount text on students writing skill at the first grade of SMPN 26 Kerinci.

EFIKASI DIRI GURU SMP DALAM PENGINTEGRASIAN PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER PADA PEMBELAJARAN KURIKULUM 2013

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengukur efikasi diri guru SMP dalam mengintegrasikan 18 nilai pendidikan karakter ke dalam proses pembelajaran dan menganalisis apakah terdapat perbedaanyang signifikan secara statistik efikasi diri guru tersebut pada beberapa variabel demografis yang relevan. Data dikumpulkan melalui penyebaran angket. Sampel penelitiannya 132 guru SMP di Kota Sungai Penuh yang dipilih secara acak.

Embracing the 2013 Curriculum: A Qualitative Metasummary of Problems

This study seeks to synthesize research findings on problems in implementing the 2013 Curriculum in schools across the country. The terminal objective of this study is to construct a large picture of the issue across different contexts of the synthesized studies. Drawing on Qualitative Metasummary variant of the Qualitative Metasynthesis Method, data were collected through online searching of relevant research reports available in several databases. Data analyses followed the procedure suggested by Sandelowski and Barroso (2007) on 81 research reports.
