Deskripsi/Abstract
This research aims to knowing the improvement of understanding mathematical concepts ability using a personalized system of instruction model and knowing students’ understanding of mathematical concepts using a personalized system of instruction model is better than understanding students’ mathematical concepts using ordinary learning. The research design used is an experimental type of quantitative research and uses a pre-test post-test control group design. The population in this study were grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 07 Kerinci for the 2020-2021. The samples is taken by cluster random sampling technique. The research instrument used of a concept understanding test in the form of a description. The data analysis technique used paired t test and two sample t test. Based on the result of data analysis, it was an increase in the ability to understand students’s mathematical concepts by using a personalized system of instruction model and understanding students’ mathematical concepts by using a personalized system of instruction model is
better than understanding students’ mathematical concepts using ordinary learning models.
