Based on the problems above, the study is intended to know aboout the students problem in comprehending descriptive paragraph. This research, the researcher used a descriptive paragraph. It consisted 10 multiple choice question and 5 essay question. The purposes of this research were to know the students problems in comprehending descriptive paragraph, to know cause of factors the students problems in comprehending descriptive paragraph. The research used qualitative descriptive method and the technique to collect the data are test and interview.

Hasil belajar IPA siswa dalam proses pembelajaran yang diajarkan menggunakakan model pembelajaran Cooperative integrated reading and composition dengan media gambar di SMPN 4 Kerinci. Diperoleh rata-rata nilai tes dikelas eksperimen adalah 87.25 2. Hasil belajar IPA terpadu siswa, dalam proses pembelajaran yang tidak mengunakan model pembelajaran cooperative integrated reading and composition dengan media gambar di SMPN 4 Kerinci. Diperoleh ratarata nilai tes dikelas kontrol adalah 75.56 3.
