Hybrid Learning: Strategies to Attract Student Learning Interests and Outcomes on Post Pandemic

The hybrid learning model, also called "mixed learning," is a way to move towards an efficient new normal. Hybrid learning includes both in-person and online meetings that are planned ahead of time so that learning goals can be communicated directly during face-to-face learning. So, the goal of this study was to look at how the hybrid learning model could be used as a way to get post-pandemic students interested in learning and improve their understanding when using full distance learning mode.

Diagnosing Effect of English Novels on Augmenting EFL Learners’ Language Skills and Competencies

English novels add new dimensions to augmenting the second language or foreign language learners’ skills and competencies. However, English novels have little roles in the Indonesian ELT context and gradually fade away from Indonesian EFL learning’s programs today. This study, therefore, aimed at diagnosing the effects of English novels on augmenting EFL learners’ language skills and competencies. This research entailed a qualitative research approach. The English Department (ED) students numbering 20 were the research participants.

An Analysis of Students’ Reading Comprehension at an Islamic Institute in Jambi

This study examines each reading comprehension indicator and reading comprehension in general. Forty-five firstsemester students of the English Education Department at Public Islamic Institute Jambi, Indonesia, which comprised of twenty-one males and twenty-four females voluntarily participated in this study. They were purposively selected as the sample of the research. This study used six indicators of reading comprehension and reading comprehension in general data. The descriptive quantitative approach was employed in this study as the research methodology.

The Implementation of Reading Text Strategies in Enhancing EFL Learners Vocabularies: A Case of One Islamic Higher Education in Jambi, Indonesia

The purpose of this study was to reveal the lecturer’s strategy in enhancing students’ English vocabularies in the process of teaching and learning in the classroom. 3 English lecturers who have ever taught English for Academic Purposes (EAP) in non-English department were involved in this study. The data were collected through semi-structure interview. Thematic analysis was applied for analysis the participants’ interview result. Finding of this study show that; first. the participants used selected reading text as a media of enhancing students vocabularies.

Modifying and Assessing Validity and Reliability of Motivation for Reading Questionnaire

This study aimed to describe the modification process and validity and reliability assessment of instruments regarding motivations for the reading questionnaire (MRQ) for measuring reading motivation of junior high school students in Jambi, Indonesia. Eighty-three students participated in this study, selected through the respondent who returned the questionnaires. The corrected items' total correlation of SPSS 23 was applied to examine the validity and reliability of MRQ.

Indonesian EFL Students’ Difficulties in Recognizing English Letters

The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore the difficulties of Indonesian undergraduate students in recognizing English letters at one public Islamic higher education institution in Jambi Province, Indonesia as the basis for designing pronunciation teaching strategies for English lecturers. Using a qualitative methodology that attempts to investigate and understand human issues in a particular group (Harrison et al., 2017), 4 participants were interviewed. through semi-structured interview questions.

Indonesian EFL Learners’ Reading Motivation

Motivation in reading is very important for engaging learners in reading activity which can affect better reading comprehension. However, without motivation in reading can affect the worst reading comprehension. Therefore, motivation in reading needs to be constructed first by the teachers. This study examined whether intrinsic and extrinsic reading motivation different among students and reading motivation in general. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach with a survey design.

How to Select Participants in My Research Study?:Sampling in Quasi-Experiment Research

This article presents the steps of selecting participants in my research study in investigating the effect of contextual teaching and learning on reading motivation and reading comprehension at state Islamic intitute of Kerinci. The cluster sampling is usedas a method of selecting the participants of the study.
