Improving Critical Thinking Skills of Prospective Biology Teacher Students through Ethnoscience-Based Biology Learning

Ethnoscience is one of the activities in transforming indigenous science into scientific science that can be implemented in the biology learning process. The implementation of the ethnoscience stage in biology learning can improve students' critical thinking skills, which is the aim of this research. This research is experimental research using a pretest-posttest control group design. The research population consisted of 36 students. The sample selection used a random sampling technique consisting of 2 classes (experimental and control), each class consisting of 18 students.

Ethnoscience study to convert kerinci community knowledge in the processing of kawa drinks

The district's traditional drink, kawa drink, made from dried coffee leaves, is used by the Kerinci people. The primary purpose of this investigation is to use ethnoscientific research to turn common knowledge about the techniques used in processing kawa drinks into scientific knowledge. This study employs a qualitative, ethnoscientific phenomenological methodology that includes observation, which involves learning where to gather the coffee leaves that will be used to make kawa drinks in the step one.

PERSEPSI GURU SMA DI KOTA SUNGAI PENUH TENTANG PEMBELAJARAN DALAM JARINGAN

Online learning is an alternative learning system, especially when face-to-face learning cannot be held. This study aims to analyse the perceptions of high school teachers in the city of Sungaipuh about the online learning system and find out the problems of teachers in implementing it. This research is quantitative research with a descriptive approach. The population of this study were high school teachers and equivalent schools in Sungaipuh with a sample of 182 people. Data was collected through surveys using open and closed questionnaires.

Langkah-langkah Modifikasi Model Inkuiri sangat tepat diterapkan dalam materi biologi yang kaya konten karena berorientasi pada teori belajar dan pola ilmuwan bekerja. Kehadiran buku ini diharapkan mampu membantu para pembaca, khususnya para dosen, untuk memperdalam kajian teori dan praktik yang mengintegrasikan tentang pengetahuan dasar desain pembelajaran berbasis Modifikasi Model Inkuiri berdasarkan teori belajar dan pola ilmuwan bekerja sehingga dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis, sikap ilmiah, argumentasi dan self-efficacy mahasiswa.

Molecular Characterization Of Endophytic Bacterial Isolates Of Angsana Leaves (Pterocarpus Indicus Willd) Producers Of Antibiotics Compounds

The increasing resistance of pathogenic bacteria to antimicrobials requires the discovery of new antibiotics. Angsana plant or Lansano (Pterocarpus indicus Willd) is one of the medicinal plants in West Sumatra. Angsana has the potential to have endophytic bacteria capable of producing antibiotic compounds like its host. The endophytic bacterial isolates of Angsana can inhibit the growth of S. aureus and E. coli bacteria. This study aims to determine the genetic characteristics of the endophytic bacteria of Angsana leaves that produce antibiotic compounds through phylogenetic tree analysis.

Optimization of Fermentation Condition of Lansano Endophyte Bacteria (Pterocarpus Indicus Willd) Isolate BA 1 to Produce Antibiotic Compounds

Increasing cases of antibiotic resistance encourage researchers to find new bioactive compounds. The source of the newly developed antibiotics is utilizing endophytic bacteria. BA1 isolate is an endophytic bacterium from Lansano plant (Pterocarpus indicus Willd) which has high antimicrobial activity. Antibiotic compounds are produced through a fermentation process. The purpose of this study was to optimize the fermentation conditions of endophytic bacteria Lansano isolate BA1 in producing antibiotic compounds. Optimization of the fermentation time was carried out for 72 hours.

Reconstruction of Community Knowledge in the Process of Making Potato Dodol Kerinci on the Criteria of Product Halalness Using Ethnoscience Approach

This study aims to reconstruct the community's original knowledge in the process of making potato dodol into scientific knowledge according to the halal criteria of a product determined by the halal product guarantee system. The research method used is descriptive qualitative based on ethnoscience with the scope of examination including document analysis, interviews and documentation. Data collection is done directly to respondents (business actors) by purposive sampling.

PENGARUH MODIFIKASI MODEL INKUIRI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS DAN SELF EFFICACY MAHASISWA BIOLOGI

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan self efficacy mahasiswa biologi melalui tahapan pengembangan konseptual modifikasi model inkuiri. Tahapan pengembangan konseptual modifikasi model inkuiri menggunakan prosedur sintesis Lee and Jang dengan pendekatan Theory-driven conceptual Instructional Design Models tipe F1-O1-S1-A1 dan dilanjutkan dengan tahapan eksperimen menggunakan uji-t.

Biological knowledge holding a very important role in following the times. The concept itself is to discuss about development of science processes and natural events of the standpoint of science as well as contained in the Quran. Phenomenally science can be seen as a product, the process and paradigm of ethics (attitudes and value) in the processes that require a proof, so that will be verified in accordance with the concept, law and supported theories.
